The Village Board of Trustees met Thursday evening at Village Hall with a consent agenda touching one of the Roosevelt Road corridor’s newest developments, next week’s Witches Night Out fundraiser, and the final accounting on a sidewalk project. As of Friday morning, the village had not posted approved minutes, so how the board voted was not yet public.

The development item was the second reading of an ordinance granting a major change to the Burj Plaza planned development at 501–593 W. Roosevelt Road and 1210 S. Finley Road, amending three earlier ordinances. The Plan Commission recommended approval with conditions on Sept. 21, and the board passed the ordinance on first reading Oct. 1, according to the published agenda.

Also on the consent agenda: an ordinance allowing beer sales and consumption at 23 W. Maple St. for Witches Night Out, the Lombard Historical Society’s fundraiser on Friday, Oct. 23. The women-only, 21-and-over evening runs 7 to 10 p.m. at the Victorian Cottage and Carriage House; $60 tickets include food, two drink tickets, a henna tattoo and a tarot reading, according to the organizers, with proceeds benefiting the Lombard Juniors Philanthropic Fund and the Historical Society’s Carriage House expansion fund.

The money items added up. Payroll and bills on the agenda totaled about $2.86 million, including $1.1 million in payroll for the period ending Oct. 3. A final balancing change order on the East St. Charles Road sidewalk improvements would reduce the village’s contract with RW Dunteman Company by $248,159.69, reconciling it with final field-measured quantities.

Other items included a $37,224.50 sign-shop printer and software purchase from Grimco through a joint-purchasing contract; two Ford Bronco Sport SUVs for $64,830.30 from Sutton Ford of Matteson, with a 2016 Dodge Caravan and a 2014 Ford Transit Connect declared surplus; and a second-reading ordinance levying $11,250 on properties served by the traffic signal at 800 E. Roosevelt Road under Special Service Area Number Three.

The agenda also listed a presentation from School District 45 during public participation. The board is expected to approve minutes of Thursday’s meeting — making the vote results public — at a future meeting.
