Main Street lane reductions for library work, Oct. 11–20

Beginning Monday, Oct. 11, the village is reducing lanes on Main Street from Washington Boulevard to Hickory Street for Helen Plum Library construction related to flood recovery. Overnight July 3–4, about five inches of rain flooded the south end of the building on the first floor and basement. The collection is safe and the library is open on normal hours, but the Youth Services Program Room remains closed while reconstruction (drywall replacement, painting, flooring, and related work that began in September) continues. Two-way traffic continues through about Oct. 20. Drive slowly and watch for workers, the village said.
