Editorial
We're opening the opinion page. Lombard, it's yours.

A neighborhood paper that only prints what the village, the park district, and the calendar already said isn't much of a paper. It's a bulletin board with better fonts. The missing piece has always been you — the neighbors reading it.
So this page is now open. Letters to the editor, guest columns, the occasional strong opinion about parking on St. Charles Road: if it's about Lombard and it's written in good faith, it belongs here.
A few ground rules, stated plainly. Sign your name — anonymous letters don't run, though we'll withhold a street address on request. Keep it to 300 words or so; the best letters are short. No personal attacks, no campaign ads in letter's clothing, nothing we'd have to flag under our own standards. We edit for length and clarity, and we fact-check claims the way we fact-check everything else.
Write to the address below. If your letter runs, it runs with your name on it, in front of the whole village. That's the deal, and it's a good one.
